Re: Ultra sonic pest repellers

We raised wild mice for about a year or so. By this I mean we set up a habitate with a open door and food, water exercize wheel and things to play on.When it came time to remodel we ofcourse needed to be rid of them (some where between 100-200 mice) Ordered a set of three and plugged them in. 90% of the mice left on the first day. The 10% left were either tone deaf or adapted. I just sealed up the entrance holes and made sure there was no food or water around and they left in about a week or so.

On average, vertebrate pests adapt after a few days and remain a problem. Insect and arachnid pests are not affected. With the literally hundreds of people I have dealt with who have tried the devices, they have seen little to no effect on anything except themselves and their wallet. Get your house sprayed and you'll never turn back....

I have used the sonic mole eliminator. Order now and recieve this amazing mosqitto key chain sonic destroyer. But wait theres more order now and recieve a ginzo knife if you order in the next hour.

Three weeks later I am still sinking in my yard everytime I mow and end up with about 20 mosquito bites. Sure the knife comes in handy. I use mole notts and that stuff worked within one week. I use 29 percent deet for the mosquittos. I just saw on the news that mosquittos are attracted to carbon dioxide. Some people produce more then others and that is why they bother some people instead of others. In my opinion the sonic crap is a hoax.

Elmer Fudge
I showed this tread to my wife tonight and she said I had to tell you again about our mouse habitate (sp)

Will have to admit that is the exact same thing we had heard from everyone who tried them.

But since we had invited them to our home as pets we decieded to order a 3 pack for 19.95

After 18 months of feeding them we were filling the food and water every morning, night, and again before going to bed.

After the first day of the sonic things... we never needed to refill until all mice had left.

BTW Elaine and I have never heard of these things ever working before. Might be the mice Gods as all knowing that we didnt want to hurt them. ;)

Link

For mice I use a product called "One Bite" from the local feed store, it works, can smell bad for a while though!

Sorry Link I live in the country and did not invite them in!

I have one of the cheap ones from Wally world. I put it in my living room and I haven't had a mouse in there since, and thats been about a year or so. The other end of the house still has them but not the end close to the machine. It has had no efect at all on anything else.

I don't have a mice or a roach problem, however i do have a problem with spiders, june bugs and various other flying insects. I am hoping to find an alternative to using chemicals.

Elmer, if you are opposed to chem, then your other alternative is exlcusion, to keep them out. You have to have better windows and doors, and seal all cracks, screen the soffet vents, etc. Also managing the vegetation around the house is key. The more shrubs and undergrowth around the house, the more pests you will have. My customers always ask if there is a good alternative to chem, and I always tell them a concrete and steel dome, hermetically sealed, and surrounded by 4 acres of asphalt will cut down on the critters. Chem, if properly applied, is safe. You expose yourself to more hazards pumping gas in your car than a properly applied chem treatment. Now, going and buying off the shelf chem and slopping it around, thats it what gets you in trouble. That is why Diazinon and Dursban was banned from public sales (you can still get whats on the shelf, after its all gone, thats it), was private consumer abuse. "If this amount works, more works better" is pure BS. After treating a house, I can tell you that there is only a few ounces of chem on the entire house, the rest was water, just to get the chem evenly distributed on the surfaces. It only takes a little bit to get the job done, less is better.

LOL yes I did make it sound like that. Opps
I'll clear this up. We were feeding somewhere between 100-200 mice but only had one mouse family living in the house. (in a shoe box)

My wife started to move a shoe box and a mouse jumped out. When she looked inside there were two little baby mice about the size of a dime inside.
Not wanting to dis-trube things she just put the lid back on and put some food and water just outside the box.

This worked well except that the food started going real fast. When the babies left the nest we replaced the shoe box and food and water bowl with the habitate and just played with the mice for a year and a half. Cute furry little critters like my squirrels except smaller

EF
You got that right on the diseases. Same with a lot of small wild creatures. One of the many reasons they no longer are here. It actually got scary when we did a little research on mice (and other cute fury animals)and what all they can and do carry.

Re: Ultra sonic pest repellers

I once read that the black plague which had killed millions of people in europe was transmitted by a very tiny flea which were carried by rats and mice of that era, i don't know for sure but it maybe that they still do carry them
