How well do those Ultrasound bug repellers work?

As I was being tormented by horseflies this morning, because I forgot the bug spray, I thought it'd be cool to have a bug repeller built right into the boat. Just flip a switch, and the bugs disappear. I've seen the units go anywhere from $20 and up.

Just an idea. What do you all think?

Buy one and tell us if it works. ;)

I haven't seen this lately, but bug zappers over the water. Bugs get zapped, fish eat the zapped bugs that fall into the water. More and more fish learn about the fried bug smorgasbord and congregate. Lots of fish to catch. Hmmmm. :)

Willy, you may have just found a way around a law here that will not let you fish with a light over the water. Don't know why. They also get peeved when I fish with dynomite..... :D

That's a myth, they don't work worth a damn. Google it and see for yourself, there are numerous studies that disproved those gadgets. Nothing beat a good old can of OFF.

We've been using the little bracelet things you put on your wrist. I think off makes them. You hold them up to a light and they "charge" and it gives off the repellant. Good for like 180 hours and you can recharge multiple times in the 180 hours. The best thing is when you're done you take off the bracelet and you don't smell like bug spray the rest of the day.

And they've been workin out for you huh? I may have to look into those.

I was out all last night. Anything above forward idle, and the bugs were horrible. When I was stopped they didn't seem too bad.. I really took a bath in Off though :D
