I just bought a 14' Starcraft with a 1977 Evinrude 25hp motor model 25752. The guy I bought it from did not winterize it. When I asked him about winterizing it he just said he drained the gas. What should I do before starting it this spring?
From reading on these forums I am guessing I need to change the L/U oil, and possibly the impeller. What else? Or do I just do those things and prime it and turn it over?
I thought this guy would have known to winterize it considering he rebuilt the carbs and did some other work like installing a new coil and fuel pump, as well as rewiring the whole boat etc...
Thanks guys! I am learning a lot so far on this site. I am very anxious to get this thing in the water. Too bad we are having an extremely cold winter and spring seems so far away here in central Iowa.
