When I attempt to throttle the motor, the rubber stop hits the shift arm and not the engine block. Does the shift arm need to be adjusted? If so, how can this be done? Help!!

Gonna need a better description of what is happening. When motor is near neutral it will lock the accelerator so that you can not get high RPM. I dont see anything rubber that can obstruct the function of the throttle or shifter.

Actually the bolt at the bottom of the towershaft is hitting the shift arm. This is preventing me to open it up all th eway and preventing the rubber stop from hitting the block. I can email you a picture if you want to.

Here is the photo. Newer style then mine. When you advance the throttle does it go almost to full throttle on the carb and does it go almost all the way forward on the shifter. If it goes all the way on the shifer but carb throttle plates dont open all the way I would mess with it on the carb. If shifter dont go all the way I would adjust it with the screw and lock nut in the picture.

Even if i removed that screw totally, the bottom of the shaft would still hit the arm. When you put the boat in full throttle the arm (with the bolt) is suppose to swing down below. so the shaft can turn and the rubber stop hits the block, is it not?

After I adjusted the linkage, everything cleared and I was able to open it full throttle. Thanks for your help.
