I'm putting in an in floor tank that the boat did not have before. Should I put rubber or foam under the tank?

Re: Under Gas Tank

You didn't mention what kind of tank you were going to use. Nonetheless, you should support the tank above the hull and foam under it to spread the load. See my picture below. Note the 4 2 x 2's epoxied to to hull.

see this link with description for after the tank had been set in the bay.

http://www.shareaproject.com/pages/imageDetail,p,92,i,1361,00.html

E.E.

I have a Tempo plastic (16 x 70 x 8) that I will be installing in bildge compartment, the instructions give 6 points of support underneath and 6 points for aluminum clamps (S shape) on top. They say allow the tank to sweat and expand on all sides.

Like others have said you don't want it moving around at all.

Peace.

Ed.
