I'm beginning to think that the boat is under powered, but maybe there is a prop to alleviate some of my problems. So the info: Boat is a 2002 vip bay stealth 1880 rolled gunnel with a 2002 yamaha f115. Boat is pretty heavy as it has a tolling motor and 5 batteries, 3 up front for the trolling motor, one in the console for accs. and one starting in the back. Typically I run with 2-3 people and 30 gals of fuel in 1-2 ft chop. Boat came with a 13x19 al 3 blade prop. It would take forever for the boat to get on plane with 3 people and full fuel. At WOT I was at 5100 rpm and 36 mph. After that I tried a prop I had on a honda 90 on the other boat. Solas 3 blade SS unknown model 13.25x17. With this prop I was able to get on plane quicker with the same load, but still pretty slow. WOT Rpm didnt change too much hit 5200 and 37mph, now this prop wasn't new and did have a few small dings. Next I got ahold of a Solas titan hr3 I think, 13.50x15. This prop I got on plane pretty good but the RPMS were too high. 6100-6200 WOT and the top speed didn't change. Out of all of these I think the 13.25x17 is the best because the I can cruise at 4200 at 28 to 30mph. So what do you guys think? The front of the boat is pretty heavy so would a 4 blade prop help with lifting the bow?
Thanks,
Jeremy
