Hello to everyone!!

Can anyone help me identify my boat?
I purchased her recently and she came with an Old Seagull Silver Century engine - I am guessing she is probably from the 1960's?
The under part is red (do colours help??!!) and I think the cuddy was originally blue. Some bright spark decided to paint her purple - hence the pics - I have primed her white, further work anticipated!!

She is 16ft long.
Not sure of her orignial name - is it possible to find out?

Would the high back mean that at some time she was ocean going as I found a ticket in her from Torbay Council council...

Any info would be gratefully recieved and thank you in anticipation for your time.

Best wishes,
Wendy

Where are you located? This might help. There is a town in Newfoundland called Torbay. There might be a connection. It looks like a fishing skiff from the area except the stern is different from anything I have seen.

Isn't that the boat the Captain and Gilligun went out on a '3-hour tour"?

Maybe that guy who's stuck on the side of the hull can answer some of your questions. :D

neat looking boat, hope you find your info. to me it looks like an near shore commercial fishing boat with the wheel on the outside like that. send more picks as you progress.

Doubtful.. he look as confused as anyone - it appears as though he's looking to see the sex of the boat.

I worked on the river for 5 1/2 years(towboating) and that looks like a store boat that would deliver our groceries and everything else we ordered, we would call them on radio, put in our orders and they would put on out and deliver our order to our boat(s) from shore, look like a river store boat, could be home made not sure, if not I am sure some one might be able to identify, the All the store boats I have seen over the years had high sterns too, The rock and roll from behind our boat were tremendice, the props on them you could easily drive a van through, huge. just my 2cents

The stern eye probably hooks up to the bow of the boat behind it. Then they run in a circle at Disney World!!! Thats why there is no power plant :)

Dont know what it is but it looks pretty cool!!

I think I've seen my 2 year old playing with that on the playground.

Well thank you to all the folk who gave some serious thought to my question!!

Very interesting reading and thank you for the compliments - sure, she is a mighty fine looking first timer boat (oh! and I'm a woman haha!)

If the guy in the pic could tell me anything about her, would I be here? duh!

Sex of the boat??????????? As far as I'm aware, ALL boats are 'she'.

David :) she has an outboard - I mentioned this in the posting, perhaps you're not paying attention!!

Popeye?
Playground?
Disney?
Casablanca?

I thought I'd joined a boating site - the answers are as ridiculous as the posting about 'the percentage of women'.

On the vernacular, thank you for the comments made from the members who obviously have a higher IQ. Skiff sounds promising - I am in the UK so not so sure about Newfoundland!

I have done some cosmetic work simply so I can get her in the water asap and enjy the English summertime but come the Autumn, I'll knuckle down to some serious work! Don't think I've done too bad for a woman
<smile please!>......... ?450 - boat, trailer and Seagull outboard (Prop is like new so assume it hasn't done too much!)

Thank you once again for all positive comments.

Best wishes
Wendy

Sorry Wendy, no one ment any harm... If someone knew what it was for sure they would have undoubtably told you.

IQ has nothing to do with it. Perhaps on this side of the pond we have a better sense of humor.

Cheers!

Sure! I know, no harm done or offence taken...
Pond? You mean ocean?? haha

Perhaps it is an English thing - humour is fine when put in context with the enquiry or maybe it's that male vs. female thing.. men are from Mars??

I'm harmless honest - and enjoy humour but to take the p*** out of my little boat you'll surely have a fight on your hands (just joking!!)

Take care,
Wendy
