So as i have said in several different posts I am ground up restoring my boat. Part of which is new dash/ guages. Most of the guages on the boat were inopperative anyway so I want to get new gauges and whatever else is needed. What will I need sending units? I want mph, tach, amp, fuel, and tilt. So my question is whats a good place to get these guages off the internet and also what all will I need to install everything new? thanks josh

Right here on Iboats!

The boxed kits can be a deal. Teleflex & Faria are the least expensive, next to ebay purchases. You can also get them from an engine dealer - mercury, BRP, etc.

To compare styles go to Teleflex and Faria's websites. Gauges will come with senders except tach (doesn't need one), oil pressure gauges, etc, but they'll explicitly say. Speedos and such come with a sender.

Opinion section:
For outboards, in order of importance
Tach, water pressure gauge, temp gauge, fuel, voltmeter/ammeter, tilt/trim gauge, speedo

Inboards (of which I'm truely ignorant!)
Oil pressure gauge, Tach, temp gauge, fuel, voltmeter/ammeter, tilt/trim, speedo.

Josh, You can buy teleflex gauge packages from Overtons (catelog or website), and save a few bucks.

I replaced my gauges with a 7 piece Faria set I got thru ebay from Greatlakesskipper that was about $130.

BTW,
Faria is made in the US with a good web site with install instructions and will respond to your questions via email if you are unsure about any of their stuff.
