This will be my first winter storing my boat, i was wondering if i should store the the boat with the outdrive up or down. The boat will be stored indoors.
Thanks in advance
Rob
Down, but not all the way down. You want the driveline to be straight so the bellows is in its relaxed position. The cavitation plate should be parallel to the keel.
The cavitation plate is the horizontal, flat part of the lower housing just above the propeller. It keeps air from getting sucked down to the propeller when the boat is moving. The proper name is actually anti-cavitation plate.
I guess I should have just said to have the propeller shaft parallel to the keel.
Thanks for all the advice. I am concerned about the mice, but i was planning to put moth Balls in the boat, and a perimiter of moth balls and de-con on the floor around the boat. Anything i am missing?
