Im in the process of swapping out the busted adjusting lever on my outboard. i bought one on e-bay from 'pine lake boat and motor' out of Plainwell ,MI. The price was reasonable and the part was exactly as advertised.very happy with the purchase.
Under the powerhead towards the rear there is alot of crud ,i was wondering what that part is and whether or not to clean out all the crud, any advise would be welcome, thanks.

It's a baffle for the exhaust outlet. Supposed to help the motor run a bit quieter. Clean it out if you wish, it's just old built up carbon from the rich 24:1 oil mix.

I have purchased from the same place. Saw them on xbay but since I live close I went and visited them. Nice smaller operation with good knowledge and reasonable prices.
