Update (AMARKET. com gone) Bellows/Gimbal Bearing

91 Mercruiser V6 4.3<br /><br />Quick question, I ordered a Transom repair kit from amarket.com and when I got it I notice that the Bearing look a different then the one in my boat. The center sticks out about 1/4 inch more and also the bellows that were in my boat were both rubber and what looks like aluminum and the new ones were just rubber. Should I have any concern about this?

91 is a funny year because they changed from the GEN I drive to the GEN II drive<br /><br />so depending on what you have and what you bought you may have a mix up the parts in the kit are different on both types of drives<br /><br /> http://mercstuff.com/drive_id.htm <br /><br />tommays

Sounds to me like you maybe got a Gen 1 kit for your Gen II drive. They're not interchangable.

Yes , I have a gen 2 and the aftermarket website didn't have a choice.

It appears that Amarket.com had closed ,the website is gone and the phone number don't work. I receive an alpha 1 gen transom repair kit instead of the Gen 2. Can everything but the bearing still be use on my Gen 2.

SeaRyan,<br />Amarket.com is located in Kenner, Louisiana. Kenner is part of New Orleans. Amarket.com is probably flooded out and will be out of order for a while.
