Ok here is what I have done so far: Cleaned carb very good and changed out all gaskets on the carb(reused the floats), installed to screen and gasket in fuel pump, new plugs, I have awsome spark, changed lower unit oil to type C, compression is 135/130, and all new fuel lines under the hood. Before I did all that the motor would run and then quit 20-30 seconds later. After all the work it runs great but I have to keep pumping the bulb, if I don't pump the bulb it will get soft and the motor will start to idle higher just like it is starving for fuel. I think the fuel pump is bad, when I was replacing the gasket and screen inside, I took the other part off behind the gasket and it was torn in there with a little rust. What do you guys think my next step is?

If it is torn you need to replace it. Also make sure your fuel tank is vented.

I will just have to replace the whole fuel pump, because I can't replace that black cloth looking gasket...I had to remove a few more screws to get to it. Fuel tank is vented, I have the little set screw in the top of the fuel cap threaded only half way.

Ok...I have all the fuel lines under the hood on correctly, I just can't keep the motor running without having to pump the bulb, I really think that I need a new fuel pump and I dang sure hate to spend the money on one. Another question I have is, there is some white oily looking stuff about the consistancy of yogurt mixed with water coming out of the exhaust at my prop...what the heck is this stuff and does it go away?

I don't know what you are talking about a cloth looking gasket. There is a diaphragm behind the screen that is most likely torn or perforated. This will come in a rebuild kit and they aren't very expensive. Beats buying a whole new fuel pump you probably don't need and they are available right here. The white milky substance means you have water mixing with oil in your lower unit. the most common cause is the gasket on the fill screws. Replace them and refill with oil. If you still get the milk then you need to replace your seals in the lower unit. While you are there for 20 bucks I would put in a new impeller for the water pump.

I had to re read a few times...but I think he said it was coming from the exhaust.
If he's running in a barrel, won't that just be 2smoke oil and water mixing, and doing the nasty?

exhaust will be black floating on top. White is water with oil.

It is coming out of the exhaust at the propeller...I checked my lower unit and no white stuff in there so maybe unburned fuel/oil mix?

The white stuff is fine. Use synthetic 2-stroke oil and it will likely be eliminated. If you check the fill plug on the lower unit and the oil looks clear and new, it's not leaking. BTW, my digital camera is on the blink so I couldn't take pics of my fuel pump. Please don't think I was ignoring your request. I'm hoping to get one working soon, as I'm getting a new boat tomorrow and want to post some pics! :)
Good luck,
JBJ

Ok! Got my new fuel pump in the mail and put on this evening and that solved the problem of having to pump the bulb to keep the motor running! So, now onto servicing the impeller.

White milky stuff that was coming out of exhaust at the prop has changed color to a kinda grayish color and that was after changing the fuel pump. So I am thinking that since I had to pump the bulb to keep the motor running that it was getting too much gas along with the tear in the fuel pump diaphram which allowed a lot of unburned fuel/oil mix out the exhaust.
