Update on Mom's Paycheck,.....aka: Bondo's Ark...

Yesterday morning,... A Bud called about 1/2 passed 9am,.... There's an Auction at Remar Ship Yard,.... Gone out of Business,+ they're going to build a Hotel on the site,.......
I jump up,+ Run the 25 miles to the place,+ meet up with Capt. Honk,..........

About 20 minutes after I arrived,...... I was/am the proud new owner of This,.....

A 1969 Nautiline 34' Houseboat,...... Twin 318cid Chrysler's with these drives,......

Which brings me to My Question,........?......

Can anybody Identify these Drives,......?..?..?..?... I've Never, Ever seen AnyThing like them..........

(I've got aout 13 distributor caps for it) IN STOCK !

I didn't know scott-atwater/ ??? used to own Volvo.But those drives are ugly enough to be.Could also be Montgomery-Ward?

But who knew ? Look at that boat ! I'd buy it too!

At Saturdays Auction,......... I Invested $500.00...........................................................................................................................

I'm headed up there Right Now to Survey Atleast the Hull,+ Domestic Services........
Maybe I can find something on the Drives,+ Power units......

Oh,... Yes,... I see this tied to the dock at Chaumont so the Lovely,+ her kids will have a "Summer House",....
While I'm jacking the Real House up........

Seriously, considering you have a place to put it, it looks like a real find. Does it run? What kind of motors in front of those outdrives. May Renault Dauphene?

You have AQ100 Volvo drives there, and believe it or not I have a service manual for the drive in Adobe Acrobat if you want it.

FYI........Vortec is running very strong...........seems real torquey between 3400-3800.

Used to see drives like this at the harbor on the Mighty Ohio. Musk Rats would come up and chew holes in em. They liked the moss and scum that built up on the rubber bellows. Ummm....tasty. You could lead them by following the air bubbles. We kept a BB gun on the boat. Great fun. Do you own a BB gun? I'll bet those 283's run with a fresh battery. Best motor GM ever built. What happened to the woodie sitting next too it? Might have pulled in a cool $100! Enjoy the new barge.

Well,.......... I Think this Might be a Better Deal than I Thought,...... So Far........

The boat was relicenced Last year,... The sticker is good til 08,.....
It Appears that the boat was In use til the end of the season,+ Pulled,+ Winterized by the marina...It also Appears that the previous owners just packed up the Beer from the Fridge,+ Left,.... As you can see in the pictures,... there's Still Clothes,.. Supplies,..and Toiletries left onboard.....
There's even a bunch of Ditty Boxes,... An Electrical Ditty Box,..... Safety Supplies,... Plumbing Supplies,... Radio Supplies,...In the cupboards, there's the original Owner's Manual,.. Shop Manuals,... Lot's of papers for the different systems......
Other than dropping in a couple of Batteries,..... I Think I could just Splash it,+ Go Boating................But I Won't......

I don't know Where they came up with the "283" in the listing,....What's here is,......
2, 318 Chryslers with Chrysler/ Dana drives...........
I talked to my Bud, Don from Don's Prop Shop in Clayton,... He tells me these drives are Bomb Proof,... And,... He's got a fellow working for him that's the Local Crackerjack for these Danas,.... Hopefully,.. He's there today going over them,......
So far, I can see I need a new bellows,+ new boots for the steering arms,... 1 new shift cable...
The Engines, I Didn't get to survey them,.. But,.. They've been mothballed,.... All drained, the plugs still finger tight,.... The Carbs have been drained as well..... The Oil is also Fresh.....

Other than needing alittle Remodeling of the cabin ceiling,....And, there's No Gen-set.......
I Just Can't Find any Major Issues.............
