After the advise from my last postings I used my Evindude 4hp 1990 twin longshaft on my 9ft inflatable with great results, no bother at all thanks again for help.

I missed the orig post, but at 4 hp, you aren't really generating that much whoopie to cause you much of a problem like trying to do it with a 150 or such would do.

Mark

Yes I would agree, I am rookie and needed advise, even yesterday when I was ready to launch several at the slip advised againt using engine which made me aprehensive but was completely unfounded! just as you say nothing to worry about, had ride today in old restored RIVA only 30knts full bore but what a boat straight 6 Ford 220bhp with seating for 8/10, rode the swell in sea with ease no slamming. Hi Lurcher - good to hear it worked. Sometimes you just have to follow your gut feeling to see if something works or not - as long as you always consider the safety aspect.

Finally launched my boat - at 14" with 70 HP Rude and 6 HP Rude twin carefully stowed in the bow, she really flies. With two remotely switchable fuel tanks and two batteries I - and many Forum members - were concerned about the weight, but I have managed to distribute the weight well and I still have good freeboard. I installed 3 bilge pumps - to the amusement of some Forum members - and trim tabs help to get on - and stay on plane - quicker and longer.
So far, so good - but I must say like Frank, "I did it my way"
