Thought I would update on my ongoing project with the rinell 1988 192s. I purchased through a online charity auction for 400 bucks. I had to replace the transom, all flooring wood and redesigned the bulkhead stringer design from one provided to me by a member of the forum. I added an extra outward stringer. 4 compartments on each side filled correctly with aero marine pour foam. Covered the floor with a layer of goop coat it a solid epoxy with graphite, kevlar and ceramics mixed in 100 bucks. Tabbed everything in with west system epoxy then when west marine closed the store close to me I bought the aero marine 8000 and that worked well.used 1708 fiberglass on everything.redid all upholstery I had to replace all vinyl on bow seats and cabin side panels. The other vinyl I used the sem soap, vinyl prep and filler to repair and used sen carver white and addedsem Pacific blue as stripes on the pleats.just recieved the max GPS epoxy gel coat to do rear of transom as I filled all previous exterior breaches with epoxy.iwill epoxy fish finder and speedometer pickup on back and drill the access hole very high up. I have put a new gimbal bearing, seal, bellows and orther seals and impeller in.
new starter and new fuel pump new oil filter and fuel filter. New riser gaskets new water jacket gaskets.bought all the bearing install tools, and the shift cable adjustment tools. Been hot here in az so I am limited to the time I spent. The dual axle surge brake trailer is in great shape and like new. So with the purchase price and new tires that came to 800 bucks. I have spent another 1500 on epoxy, glass, wood, parts vinyl, foam, bolts screws and machine shop. I will post pics of progress from when I started to where I am now.
