Folks,

Use this link: Neversink Rebuild

For the updated pics on my rebuild, I broke my old site, so if you try the old links they probably won't work. I am making progress, still want to get in the water before the season really heats up down here (Florida Gulf Coast).

Enjoy,

Peace.

Ed.

Bondo,

I know the plastic looks a little thin, I think with a little "200 mph" tape, it will work just fine :)

Peace.

Ed.

Bondo,

Right, sorry, that was so long ago I forgot all about it. Once I removed it and cleaned the crud off of it, it was obvious it was never to be used again. Lots and lots of tiny pinholes in the top, not to mention all kinds of stuff in the tank, including a couple of nuts and bolts.

I gues the aluminum tanks will fail after they have been in the bildge for a length of time. I am hoping for better luck with the plastic tank(Tempo 36gal).

Peace.

Ed.

Beautiful work Ed! Your patients and determination are really paying off, keep it up. You could have junked it and bought another one but there’s nothing like the feeling of taking out a boat you built yourself and know what it’s made of and done better then the factory built it.

Looks like a great job from the pics I have seen. I am installing stringers in my boat now and was wondering what the brand of foam you used in between your stringers--looks sharp.

oldtwaiener,

I purchased the foam from Fiberglass Coatings Inc. (Fiberglass Coatings Inc, WEB site)

I know they don't manufacture the foam, but it had their label. Hope this helps.

Thanks all for the feedback, just came in from outside, sanding fiberglass (my favorite thing). Ready to glass in the rest of the tank now.

Peace.

Ed.

Keep it up!!! Can't wait to see you cruising around here. You make it to Caldesi or Anclote? I'm in ST Pete but cruise up that way quite a bit. When is your launch date.

Studlymandingo,

Launch date, ummmmmm....... soon, trying for May sometime. I do a lot of flats fishing around Anclote and Three Rooker, I live at the end of the Klosterman channel. Right where "fast Eddies" use to be (there are condos there now). I live in Baywood Village, has canals throughout, about 10 min to Anclote. 5 min no wake to the channel.

I am land locked, but have arrangements for keeping the boat on the canal across the street.

I really lucked out, bought the house in 98 before everything went crazy, I am a "blue collar" owner in a "blue chip" neighborhood. Power to the little guy :)

Souther Tip Of Anclote, Three rooker

I don't know why the above link is not closer, but zoom in on "Tarpon Springs" and you can see Anclote and Three Rooker easier.

This map has the southern tip of Anclote and the Horseshoe of three rooker (Although the Huricane from two years ago ripped a whole in it so it is not a continuous sand bar anymore). I live due east of the center of the "hook".

Peace.

Ed.

That's a great area. I live in South St Pete on Bayou Bonita. 1 block from the water, but all of the lots in my neighborhood had riparian rights to water lots, so I have a dock on a protected waterway. There is also a boat ramp less than 3 blocks from the house. Takes me about 15 mins to get to Sunshine Skyway, sometimes I shoot out into the Gulf and run up to Palm Harbor area. Have a good boating buddy up there. Hope to see your new/old ride tooling about soon! The weather was great today, took a short jaunt over to Egmont Key. I'm doing some cosmetic work to my 18' Center Console, paint on the cowl, buffing, etc. but trying to keep it where I can get out on the water in short notice.
