Updated tow vehicle

Well you guys finally scared me into upgrading my tow vehicle. I have a 2005 Caravelle 207, about 4500lbs total tow weight. I was towing with a 94 Wrangler. You guys convinced me if I were in a wreck I would be in big trouble. I sold the jeep and bought a 2004 4x4 Excursion with a 6.0 PSD, 8" lift, 37" tires and 4.56 gears. This is definately a suitable tow vehicle.

Just eyeballing it, you need to drop more height on your hitch receiver (hitch ball needs to sit lower. Too little tongue weight could make the trailer squirrelly).

I agree about the hitch. I've only towed one time so far and this is the biggest drop I have. I have a truck shop nearby that makes custom drops, so I will go get a better one. You can't tell in the picture but I am parked on a hill. It is steep but I turned the camera to make it look flat. This is about a 30 degree hill.

Would like to know, after you drive it a bit, what the difference in mileage ends up being between the Jeep and the diesel. My 3/4 ton truck gets about the same mileage as my mom's 4.0 cherokee.

Thats funny because so far the Excursion is getting the exact mileage as the Jeep. Hard to believe.
