My `80 115 has the older style two cylinder trim/tilt. I saw in a junk yard a newer 65HP Merc oil injected motor with the trim/tilt built into the transom assembly. Could I remove the powerhead/exhaust housing and use this trim/tilt on my motor?
Thanks!

If the Shape ot the midsection and the bolt pattern for the exhaust plate and powerhead studs are the same (including length) then it should work. I had to use stainless steel threaded rod for my 40 70 HP conversion. If you could post pictures of the exhaust Plate to midsection gasket of both then we could see if they are the same. You may have to check to see the splines are the same for both in the driveshaft. Wost comes to worst you may be able to use the lower from the 115 with the 115 powerhead
