upgrading lowrance,pull new cables???

boat im looking at purchacing has older x47 lowrance on the front. is there a more modern lowrance i can buy that will hook up to the existing cable? or do i need to start over? also to have something installed right of the dash, around how much if i purchase the unit?

You will probably have to pull new cables. That old unit combines the power cable with the xducer cable while the newer ones are seperate.
