I have an 01 Maxum 2400SCR. It has the stock hydraulic trim tab system on it. On my old 18' Maxum, I had installed a set of Bennets and loved them, specifically the trim tab location indicator. My tab system works just fine on my current boat, however I really miss knowing where the tabs are. My old boat was smaller, so I really only used the tabs to level at cruise however with my 24' ,it's much bigger and heavier and I am learning I should be using it on takeoff and such depending on weight load. But I'd really like to know where the tabs are so I don't cause an unsafe handling experience. I saw that Bennet now has an Integrated Helm control and was pondering installing that. I also saw they now have an Auto Trim system...which just sounds awesome. My main question is if I can just use my existing hydraulic system, or do I need to get a whole new system? My current pump and cylinders work great, so if I can use those, that would be awesome. I'm assuming the tabs themselves are fine. Anyone had any experience upgrading these systems, or best to just grab an all new kit with everything?

You should be able to use your pump and tabs but the cylinders will need to change as they house the sensors for the position readout.
I have not heard very good things about the Auto Trim systems. I have the Bolts currently and in the past I had their hydraulic system with the Electronic Indicator control and it worked great.

Thanks!! The more I look into it, I think I am just going to buy a whole new system. I could use my pump, but it would require a conversion kit to be compatible, and it's about $350. I am also reading that the existing tabs on my boat are too small. I still need to measure them, but I believe they are 12x12. I might upgrade to 18x12. Interesting on the Auto Trim system....I will have to check around on that. What type of things have you heard about them not being good?

Buy the upgrade kit. New cylinder caps and control panel.
