I'm getting down to the less than essential stuff getting the toon back on the water. Due to the winter mishap, the seats got a few punctures and the captain's chair got a 2" L shaped rip. All are a soft vinyl. What's the best vinyl repair kit? (Please don't say duct tape, the boats only a year old.) Has anyone used Permatex? What's the best method of repair? I want it to look decent and I want it to last. Re-upholstering is way out of the budget.

Re: Upholstery repair

I have used the permatex stuff before. If you can get the color match, you won't even know it's there. For the larger L shaped, you may want to get a piece if vinyl and glue it to the underside of the tear. You can get vinyl glue at a fabric store. Then use the permatex over that. This way, there is some form of strength to the repair.
