Looking for short upper drive shaft to convert 1975 40HP evinrude model 40555 from a long shaft to short shaft motor. How much work is involved besides changing shaft? Thanks
you'll likely need:<br />>the mid section (driveshaft housing) <br />>shift rod<br />>driveshaft<br />>water-tube<br /><br />There ain't muck work, but the price of parts will hurt. Especially the driveshaft....<br /><br />Best to find an old short shaft assmy. with a tired engine.
