i also need to know if cavitation plate should be parallel when trimmed all the way down.

If the exhaust reliefs are under water that mtr will never idle right.

I have that figured out but with the angle of the transom the motor is beyond parallel when trimmed all the way out. should i shim behind the thrust plate which will lift exhaust out (just out) and help with planning

IMHO the boat just isn't built right to hold all that weight in the stern. The exhaust reliefs have to be at least 8" or better out of water when the boat is just sitting. I have heard of adding floatation tanks to both sides of the transom to correct this prob. The tanks are simular to a gill bracket and would be another expense. Best thing to do is run it as Haffiman suggested some posts back.

What you are experiencing is what killed most of the Sea Drives and gave them a bad name.
Both in your case and the ones on the pick should have been 25" and not 20" legs. A pure boatbuilder/installation error. Had this been done, your exhaust relief ports would have been lifted about 5" which probably would have solved your problems. Unfortunately one mainly learns from mistakes, a bit annoying when one has to pay for other peoples mistakes!!

Oups, then you really must lack buoyancy.
Is there any way you may re-distribute weight in the boat?
Got a pick of your boat?

Re: upper exhaust ports under water

this is happening with nothing in boat. i have 2 batteries in stern and thats it. i will get a pic on thursday evening. what do u want to see inside and out? fuel tank runs from center console to just before live well in bow, which is a foot foot and half. like i said before foam towards stern is wet and dry towards bow. drilled some drian holes got maybe a half a gallon of water. i wouldnt think wet foam could way it down that much, with no standing water. other than building boxes on stern to add buoyancy, running the boat like u suggested worked pretty well. i just also dont like having self bailing holes pretty much in the water also.
