I acquired a 1977 Crestliner Norseman II from a junk yard for 250.00. Engine runs great and other than some rotted decking the carpet etc is in pretty good shape.
The part of the upper gear case housing that connects to the tilt gear is broken around the three bolts so the stern drive can be manually lifted up.
There is a picture of the part on page 305 of the Clymer OMC Stern Drive Shop Manual 1964 - 1986 (c) 1988, if you have a copy laying around your computer.
Can this be welded or repaired without replacing the housing. If not, how hard are those housings to come by?
