Re: upper sun deck

You won't find a kit for that pontoon, but there are companys that will build them. Of course it is a challenge to balance structual integrety and weight.

Unless you have or can obtain the skills to safely engineer the deck, I recommend that you sell what you have and look for something like the Tracker Party Hut.

Good luck with you project and report back on your progress. And welcome to the forum..

Re: upper sun deck

There are several models with upper sundecks. I once owned a Party Hut and a Party Cruiser that had upper sundecks.

I'm guessing that you'll have to fabricate the vertical supports from square aluminum tubing.

This is certainly not something you can just do, it will take alot of engineering to get it to where it actually works and doesn't tear the boat up, there si alot of weight involved and you have to plan for it to take whatever your top speed is.

I have never seen a kit for this, we bulit them for several years at Bennington but dropped that option 2-3 years ago, also keep inmind with that much weight high it makes the boat react alot more to wake, they really get to rocking.

Also if your going to be hauling the boat a lot and putting it on a trailer, make sure your ready for that adventure cuz I can imagine it's quite an ordeal.

Re: upper sun deck

If I wanted a sun deck, I would look at my cross members and connect the footings there. The footings would a larger OD sleeve with holes in it so it could lowered or raised or taking off. Say the height of the fence and tied together horizly . Then I would go where I could get what ever material Round or Square I wanted
to use and have them roll it to a 4ft radius. Then place the straight legs of the rolled members down inside the footings with two matching holes. Each structure sb not more than two foot on centers down the deck. At the top of this structure, I would have an angle frame connecting the structures. Inside the angle frame, a redwood deck for sun and play. That what I would do with my sun deck or where I would start. good luck

This guy had his built by a local truck body place. No problems so far, there is probably more info on the sight about it. I just kept the center log link because I was interested in that. Scroll down to see his sundeck, poke around the sight and you can find more info on the build.
