Hi everyone, I have an 83 seahorse which runs like a dream. Since I got this motor and rebuilt the boat I used all 3/8" fuel line but found that the stock fuel connector that is mounted to the side of the motor is 5/16" with a part number of 0393679. I didn't want to use this and have a small bottleneck in the fuel hose so I've had it routed under the cowl in a different spot which has worked great but I wanted to know if omc had an upsized piece that would work for this motor and allow a 3/8" size. I considered just removing the fitting and passing the fuel line through the hole but I didn't want it to be rubbing on the motor. Any ideas?

Motor is J175TXCTD

Thanks.

Do you really need to? It worked for close to 40 yrs , maybe just over thinking it.

If you have a built in fuel tank, why not just direct connect the fuel line to the motor? That will remove all restriction.

5/16" fuel connector is very inadequate for a 175HP motor.

guys, I think you are over-thinking it. a 5/16" fuel hose will support up to 350hp. a 3/8" fuel line will support up to 450hp and you need a 1/2" fuel hose to go up to 650hp.

Thanks, from looking around online it looked like 5/16 was good for about 115 and above that 3/8 was now recommended. You guys are probably right that I am just overthinking...

Scott is incorrect, at least about outboards. 115HP OB is nominally a 5/16" fuel line. 3/8" for higher outboard HP.

Not sure what HP needs a 1/2" fuel line, but it doesn't hurt any high HP motor to have easier fuel flow.
