Urgent help needed... Dropping lower unit

Hey,

working on my 1975 85hp. I am trying to get the lower unit dropped to install the water pump kit. I have the lower unit droped about an inch. Do anyone have a picture of what I need to disconnect to get it to drop out. I can't figure out how to disconnect the shift rod.

OK, Thanks for the reply. I got it done and all seems well. I do have one more questions. There is a single O-ring that I know belongs on the drive shaft. When I took the lower unit off, there was not one there. Does this go at the top of the shaft just below the splines?

Also, before I put this back on, when it says to rotate the drive shaft clockwise, I should be facing the prop when i do that correct?

as for the o-ring, i believe that is where it goes. I have the same motor, and didn't see an o-ring myself. I've been running without, but will put one on next time I drop the lower unit.
