the frame was wire conduit...top was just some green canvas with a strip of nylon (with grommets already in it) sewed along the edges, then rivet'd to the conduit

cool thanks. I've seen other designs made with EMT as well. I love the idea of making one, but I think it would rust in the saltwater pretty quickly down here. I guess I'll stick with my $10 beach umbrella for now :) thanks again.

This is turning out great. Thank you and please keep going!!!

Open to ideas and suggestions on how to divide up the gallery please via PM. Should we have an aluminum section, wood section etc.

I really like the idea of including a link to where it is posted (if available) To move some of the better restoration projects to the completed section would be hundreds of hours of work just to prune out the idle mindless chatter. People have used their restoration links as their private life blogs.

If you want to gasp/giggle the Oops " hull extension in progress with pics" has 180 pages of responses and Lakelover's "1964 15' Starcraft Aluminum Runabout Project" contains 54 pages and when we posted that in the completed section it only has 6 pages (how's your math that is 48 pages of chatter and questions. North Beach (another beautiful project) has 31 pages in the forum and 4 in the completed section. I am sure people are getting the idea.

We are looking for better ways to increase the completed section without blowing the hard drives out into space .

With all that said........ yes we know these are great pictures of hard detailed work. I would like people to avoid the rah rah comments in this thread since iboats will be taking the photos from here to post in the gallery.

PLEASE use photobucket for full size 480 x 640 forum pictures which appear the best.

I was thinking in addition to sub-forums of Wood/Fiberglass/Aluminum, what about possibly sub-diving by year? Maybe by 20 year increment? 1950 and prior, 1950-1970, 1970-1990, 1990-current? I figure that some people are looking for restoration ideas not only by construction type but also by similar years of production. Just my $.02

I'm really happy with this boat. I had fun restoring it and it's loads of fun to cruise around in. In the fall/spring I plan to paint the hull and install some electronics upgrades.

iboats informed me that they are very VERY pleased at the way this is progressing. Keep them coming. Great job everyone!

Please PM me with the suggestions as I have received many great ones that have been sent forward to iboats.

Now, if you have a boat you restored/refinished and did not post a thread about it - do not worry and please still post the photos. This Gallery Idea is coming together! :D

These are the only photos I have left from about 20 years ago.

That is a Mercury Mark 55H with a racing lower and gear box. This was a rebuild.

And here's the Interior Before and After. She originally had Back to Back's that, as you can see were pretty much gone, soooo... I found some old Ranger Bass boat seats, and Re-Upholstered them and Built a Bench Seat from Scratch.

1974 Reinell 1500 15' Tri-hull

I finally realized that there will always be small things to fix and replace, so I'm calling it complete.

(I don't have many before pictures, but you get the idea)

Some good stuff here guys! I'm liking the way things are coming together, appreciate all the pictures you guys have provided. I've already started publishing some Boat restoration blogs, which can be seen here http://www.iboats.com/blog/category/boat-restorations/ . If you'd be interested in writing something about what you've completed then please private message me.

Really appreciate the pictures, keep them coming! I'll keep you guys updated and show you any previews that I can.
