Use of short shaft outboard on pontoon boat

I have a 30 hp Suzuki with a short shaft, and would like to use it on a pontoon boat which I would like to acquire unpowered. The various retailers with whom I speak all say pontoons require long (or at medium) shaft o/b. It certainly seems to me that there would be some adapter (like a jack plate in reverse) that could be used to successfully place short shaft o/b on boat - but I haven't been able to find anything. Any suggestions? Thanks - John

the problem is to get the prop low enough in the water, your power head, will also be in the water. toons usually run with the anticavation plate very near the bottom of the pontoons. i don't know if there is a conversion kit available for your engine to lengthen the shaft. depending on the size of the toon, 30 hp seems small.
