Hi I’m new to the boating world and wanted to know if ebbtide boats are good all around boats. I have some pics I’m thinking of buying it and wanted to know opinions of those with more education on boats.

Ebbtide was in the running around here in the early days of bass boats, around 1969 when they started becoming popular. My definition of quality is that it withstands the test of time............

Looks like a real nice boat, but they all do. Best to try and see what’s under the floor(rotten stringers, gas tank, fuel lines) and what’s under the hood. Cheers.

Ebbtide is an OK brand . . . not the best, not the worst. 2022-1996=26 years old.

That's what is more important than the brand. You will have to look 'behind the shine' to see if there is structural rot, moisture retention, or any other issues given that the boat is 26 years old and is beyond its 'design life'.

There is a checklist up in the stickies/adult section that you can reference when you go see this (or any other) boat. None of them will be perfect, so you will have to make a choice of imperfections.

condition is king on any boat that is not brand new.

condition, condition, condition.. compression test motor, pay attention to the trailer too

I’m also looking at this 2003 glastron gx205 how are these boats compared to others out there in same class and amount of money spent.

There is less wood in the glastron only because its 21 years newer. however condition is still king
