I found this out on the net and tweaked it a little but, at the bottom it said not all toilets pump the same:confused::confused:

My boat has a handle and a plastic device that has flush and dry written on it. I can get it to flush but, was wondering if there is supposed to be a specific procedure.....

How to Use the Toilet/Head
1. Never put anything in the head that hasn't first worked its way through your body's system (except for toilet paper). You clog it you help clean it out.
2. Always make sure that you've pumped sufficiently in the flush mode to have water in the bowl before you use it.
3. Make sure you pump the bowl dry after you've finished using it.

With pump toilets, set the valve to flush, pump about five to 10 strokes to get water in the system and the bowl, then use it. After you've finished your business, pump enough strokes in the flush mode (usually around 20) to get all the waste into the tank Once you've done that, turn the valve to dry and pump the bowl dry (about another five to 10 strokes).

I like to flush it before and after to make sure that the last person didn't pump just enough to move the "stuff" out of site and leave the line full. plus that gives you a very wet bowl. "Things stick less to that"
