Using a rear anchor on a Pontoon Boat.

My Boat is squared off on the back. The motor is covered by the rear deck.So where do I mount the line for the rear anchor.All I have is a welded cleat for taking to boat out of the water at the far end of the toons front and rear.I drilled a hole in the front center of the boatand put in a large eye boltso far this has worked for the front But I can't find any place to put one at the rear.

You could put a U bolt or cleat into the deck if there is room. You can also put a cleat on the top rail if you do so near the sides or at a place with a diaganol brace. Of course you would not use the rail cleats if water and wind conditions place a lots of strain on the rail. Actually you should never use a stern anchor in these conditions anyway.

Out on the bay we anchor our boats forward and Aft so our boats don't hit each other ,otherwise we'd have to take up a lot of swing room. Most of the boats are side by side. I don't like to do that but some times we have too. It gets pretty crowded on weekends.

If you can easily reach the lift eyes I'd just use one of them.
