hey be really careful with the bottle trick, it shoots pieces of bottle (projectile!) quite a distance, and the grenade fuse time is not the same amount of time every time. second thought, just watch others loose fingers on youtube, smart people learn from their own mistakes.wise people learn it from others. you will shoot your eye out.

Layer the very top of your goodies with several layers of newspaper, it will help your ice last longer.

Don't worry, not going to make a jackass moment. It was a safety check to see if it would be feasible to use it to cool down livewell water.

Re: Using dry ice in a cooler

I have an aquaintance that wanted to ship some frozen fish to a relative, so he got one of those round coolers with the screw down lid, filled it with fish and dry ice, screwed the lid down good and tight and sealed it up with duct tape and shipped it overnight delivery, next thing he knows, he is talking to some very serious looking FEDS from several agencies with three letters in their titles. Turns out, his cooler got to the airport and was waiting to get loaded on a plane, when it exploded quite impressively! I asked him what he did, he just played the confused old man role(type casting) and after some serious interrogation and ripping him a new one, they let him go.
