As I see it, the three wires for my tach, grey, purple and black, I should be able to branch off of one of theose wires to power my fuel gauge when the key is on correct? Which one? Or should I tap into my key switch wiring? I figured the tach harness is right there so it'd be easier.

As javsam said. Also, grey is tach line from motor. Black is then ground lead.
