V-6 engine mounts

How does someone go about checking the mounts? My OB is a '98 200EFI. I have some movement when I'm on the lake in gear just idling around. I can't move it by hand when it's on the trailer. I'm just wondering if they are bad or not.<br /><br />TIA<br />Lewis

Lewis,<br /><br />There is usually some movement when the engione is running, that's why they're made of rubber. If you can't move it by hand then I would say they're probably ok.<br /><br />Chris...........

I understand that some movement is normal but how much is too much? This is my first boat so I'm not sure what is right or not. i was wanting to know if there is neway to check them. The book I have just show how to replace them. What a PITA it looks like.<br /><br />Lewis

Replacing them is definitely a PITA! About the only way to check them is the way you have. Don't be too concerned, if they fail completely the engine doesn't fall off and you should know way before that happens.<br /><br />Chris............................
