Re: Vacuum test - 3.0L Mercruiser

Walt - you slay me! :D I have no illusions about the perfect tap, except that I would remove the manifold and perform the surgery on the workbench, not with it on the motor. I have no desire to have the drillings dropping into the intake, either, along with whatever odd tools and parts might end up with them!

Bondo - I have only today accumulated all of the correct fittings and paraphernalia with which to do my leakdown test; sub-zero temperatures here in western Colorado have made it easy to make excuses not to be out working on the boat, and I like to have the thing in the water while I'm working on it - eases my mind not having to mess with the whole water collar thing. It looks like we might get a few days in the 40's this coming week - you can bet I'll be out there taking advantage of the "balmy" weather!

I guess I'll give up on vacuum testing - another dream dies! :(
