Re: Valentines Day gift ideas???

Same thing here with my wife. I buy her something and most of the time it gets returned for what she really wanted. Now, I buy her a gift certificate and let her select what she wants.

Soooo you think you are off the hook just buying her the gift certificate, 10 minutes in-out of the store and your done... WRONG! You have to go back to the store with her, and help her select the right item. Yes honey that looks wonderful  Bonus points are scored if you actively help her select things...

Wow, we are married to the same Women :D

I picked up the flowers and a card. $29.99 for a doz roses at the supermarket, not bad.
And I'll take her out to dinner.

The Bed and Breakfast idea I'll use for her bday in early March! Those type of gift certificates are fun cause we both have something to look forward too. This way she can plan a weekend when it's good for her rather than me just reserve a date. I know i'll only hear "Oh, I'll be away that weekend", never fails

Sorry to here about your Wife's illness Roscoe . . . Hang in there and stay strong for her!

Go to super market, buy cheap flowers, no more then 7.95 for a bunch

Ya Ya, I love it . . . and then I can spend the money I saved on the gift and pricier flowers on my new Impeller :D

Love is . . . never having to say to your boat "sorry, I can't get you a new impeller because I just blew my wad on Valentines gifts, maybe next year" :(

I don't want everybody to steal my idea,... Oh but wait, I stole it from someone else a few years ago.

Roscoe, this would be a great one for you too.

Go buy a bag of Hersey's Kisses and a bag of Hershey's Hugs. Since whe doesn't want the candy, unwrap the pieces and pull the little paper out that says "kisses" and "hugs". Once you get them all out find a small box to put them in. (but make sure it doesn't look like a jewelry box because you don't want to see the disappointment on her face if it looks like a "sparkellly") Wrap it up nicely.

When she opens it tell her, "Its a box of hugs and kisses, so anytime you need one you will have it." ;)

I'm at a loss for what to do this year also. I'll probably get the flowers, cook breakfast, movie, dinner, yadda, yadda,

My original thought was, get her 20 tons of river rock/decorative gravel as she's been bugging me to get the front yard finished off,,, but some how I don't think that will fly :D

Hopefully we'll get some time out on the water and enjoy some sunshine tooling around the lake. Then back home to fire up the grill and cook that perfect medium rare steak she loves with a nice salad and baked potato. Then enjoy each other's company the rest of the evening.

Re: Valentines Day gift ideas???

Last year I bought her two dozen roses. I put each one individually into a beer bottle (Moosehead....no beer, clean water) and put them all over the house. You'd be surprised how long it takes for someone to find 24 beer/roses around the house. :D

My wife works with suits all day so she gets a kick out of low brow humour.

See . . . you Sir show real class!

You didn't just grab Labatts beer bottles or Molson empties. . . you put a lot of thought into it and went with the "Moosehead" empties.

That right there shows you really care :D

Thinking I'm going real romantic this year. Maybe a monogrammed life jacket and last season of "Deadliest Catch" on DVD. That will make her heart flutter.:redface:

Why not a gallon of epoxy resin and a couple yards of fiberglass, not just any fiberglass, but maybe roving woven. Treat her special. Let us know how you make out.

Uh, need you ask?

Maybe a hard working gal who probably cooks 365 a year, does your laundry, keeps a clean house, plans meals, gets the groceries, rubs your feet when you get home after a long days work (okay, maybe thats stretching it for some LOL), takes care of the kids, the school, the homework, the dishes and still has time to see that you are content.

A dozen roses for 7.95, a big smooch, and I love you and pat on the butt for what you get is really quite inexpensive. ;):p HA

Do women still do all the above? Okay! Throw in a box of diet chocolats.

If you have a lady friend that does all that and likes to do the above likes fishing and could support my habits give her my email.

OK, heard this one on the radio...
2 gift bags,

first one contains the following.
Your I-pod, your cell phone, your GPS, the TV remote, DVD remote, any other electronic devices you may be tempted to use (blackberry etc).

second contains a pair of tickets for a show (OK, could be boat show or hunting show if that is what she likes to do), gift certificate for Bed and Breakfast, salon spa certificate etc...

Just got back saturday from Fort Myers Beach for a week, went fishing while wife enjoyed a walk on the beach, sunning and reading, etc. I envy Floridians and so many opportunities for in the water time. Here in Buffalo (beautiful snow free Buffalo by the way) we fight for every minute of water time...

with two pole stamps

??

What is that?

In California if you want to fish with two poles you have to buy a two pole stamp last year was $9.50 for the stamps. Two license with all stamps is close to $100.00 bucks.
