Hi guy I need some help I have a 15hp 1976 johnson outboard<br />my brother wants to buy it But I don't know how much it's worth any ideas?<br />It runs good look ok and work just fine any help would be great thanks.

on nadaguides it says a 15 johnson is only worth 60-90 dollars but most people would be willing to pay more...id say in good running condition anywhere from 125-175 depending on condition.

Sold on ebay, 15 hp -<br />1975- $500<br />1988 - $1,100<br />1985 - $536<br />1981 - $450<br />Just a few.

A good rule of thumb that I have found that works for me is.<br />If in good running condition and over ten years old and in traveling distance to water I useually set value at around 50 bucks a horse.<br />Most times after hagling some it will settle around 40 to 50 a horse.

Those old johnsons are great motors if they are kept up well. I assume you know the history of the motor and can gauge the condition. It does depend where you are located, and time of the year. If I was in the market for that motor, I would pay $400 if it did not need any work, maybe more if I could not find one easily, maybe less if there was a good supply available. I would hope my brother would cut me some slack on the price, but I would also avoid trying to "steal" it from him.

well Thanks for youe advice but I can't give it to him.<br />he makes good money and he would insit to pay for it.<br />I will tell him $200 $270 if he wants a full tune up first. thanks guys.
