vanguard Phantom got one?

Hi out there, just checking to see if anyone has/had a
Vanguard Phantom.
Mine is a 16 ' ski boat. it's in good shape for an 1988 boat. I have just replaced the transom. The previous owner had to many holes drilled into it for ladders, sender....... and lots of water got in the wood.
I'm running a Suzzuki DT 115 on it with a Suz 13-1/4 x 17 pitch alum prop.

Thanks Yes it does look like one.
Ive been spending a lot of time here reading and learning.
I'm working on making it go faster.
I used to have a 18' charger dl with a Rude 235 and jack plate.
I know this one will never go that fast d
Have raised the motor one hole.... probably make or buy an adjustable offset plate and get a ss prop.

Hi Glen. Nice boat. I got a 1990 Phantom (mint condition) with a 1990 115 HP Mercury outboard. This is my 2ND phantom. There is not a nicer boat out there. Too bad boat manufacturers don't make this style anymore. My phantom stands out in the sea of same dull looking wakeboard boats equipped with wakeboard towers. I receive nothing but compliments and turn numerous heads at the lake. I had a few people come by and say "Nice new boat". They are surprised to learn that it is a 1990 "old school" ski boat. Long live the PHANTOM.

Use to have a phantom with a 200 merc. 23 pitch lazer 2 prop. no jack plate, would run 64 mph at 6000 rpm on gps. Buddy had a swiftsure same hull design as a phantom, with a 3 litre evenrude with lots of mods. done with a hydrolic jack plate. He saw speeds of around 96 mph. No bull ****. I was racing him with my stv and I would just take him on the top end.

I have a 1993 Phantom with a Johnson 140HP V4. SS Raker prop with a 20 pitch. I love it, motor is a bit large for the size of the boat but I certainly won't complain. Even though its 16 yrs old, it looks fantastic. I have people comment on it all the time. Looking forward to the summer!

I,ve got a 89 phantom, bow rider, white/red. 90 hp merc. runs about 40mph wot @ 5250 rpm, I am hearing that the motor max rpm is 5600rpm. I think I need a 17" pitch prop. I just bought a comprop 4 blade 19" pitch and I still have more throttle to go (32mph)but didn't want to exeed 5250 rpm, but I will go up to 5600rpm this weekend and report back. 4 blade holeshot is awesome, handles great. Love this boat, turns lots of heads, quite often referred to as a hot rod. Easy to tow and lauch, shallow hull alows me to get into those great fishing spots when I do decide to fish (rarely). Love this boat.

Hi, I'm new to the forum.

I have a 1988 Phantom with the original 110hp Johnson.

It has been in our family since new, and has had limited use over the years, so it's in mint condition.

We have a cottage on the Great Lakes, and as a result of the rough water, and the fact that this is a calm water boat, the boat only gets in the water once or twice a year dependant upon waves and my work schedule. The rest of the time it sits on the trailer in the garage.

This has been a great boat and continues to turn heads when running.

The boat will do about 55mi/hr with only the driver, and can easily pull two adults on slalom.

Being in Ontario, and with this boat manufactured in Manitoba, I have never seen another one like it.
