When I run this 20 0r 30 minutes it will vapor lock and I have to take the fuel filter off and fill it to get it to start again. If I run the blower all the time it will usually start. What I would like to know is would it work if I put a remote filter someplace and not use the one on the block. I don't think it would get as hot.

Hmmmmm... It almost sounds like the fuel tank vent might be blocked. Just something to check.

Doesn't sound like vapor lock to me, I'm thinking more a weak fuel pump or fuel line restriction. If an engine vapor locks the spin on filter would still be full of fuel. The vapor happens between the fuel pump and fuel rail/injectors. There is a bit of a vapor lock situation but this would be caused by a hot engine and not much fuel in the line. By leaving the blower on this keeps the engine cooler and condenses what fuel does remain. Have you checked fuel pressure?

Do you have a Bravo or Alpha stern drive? Serial number handy?
