Re: varoom! varoom! varoom!

It's all a marketing ploy to get the young people in the stands so they can see if their favorite ricer wins, they will probably be playing rap music in the stands while the race is on!!!! :(

Yes sir, because it is a Toyota engine based upon the production engine built I believe in Alabama since about 2002. Well, sort of. The only thing "Branded" in all of NASCAR are the engine blocks and heads. NASCAR approves all nose and tail pieces. The center of the cars must fit a template. The chassis are all custom built within NASCAR specs using only "approved" parts.

JB, as a racer yourself you know that after the mechanics get through with an engine, the only thing left that is "branded" (i.e. FORD, CHEVY, DODGE) is the block and head castings. Everything else has been replaced by other third party or custom parts.

Reading the blogs this morning, HONDA is looking to make a debut by 2010. They have been corting several NASCAR engine builders for a while now. With PENSKE's contract with DODGE ending after 2007 and PENSKE switching to HONDA engines in the IRL, rumors abound that they will be the first HONDA team in NASCAR.
