VE175TXEID, one or two power packs? confused

Hello,

I purchased a '91 Evinrude 175 (crossflow) and hung it on my boat. Model number says its a VE175TXEID.

The wiring on it was a mess, so, i pulled out my SELOC manual that i had purchased for the motor i had on the boat before ('90 Johnson 200 Looper) and started unraveling electrical tape and crimps everywhere.

as i'm trying to decipher the wiring to put it back together, i notice on my SELOC, the only diagram I have that matches up with this motor is "V6 Powerheads 150 - 225 1986 and on". My SELOC manual says its for Outboards 1973-91 (Book #1308).

In the wiring diagram, it shows two powerpacks (port and starboard), however, looking at the motor, i only see one powerpack. is this not the correct diagram for this motor or am i missing something?

also, looks like the owner installed a newer cdi (cdi electronics p/n 173-4292).

Theres no way i'll be able to rewire this without a wiring diagram, so, any help would be *Greatly appreciated!

Evinrude site shows you have one powerpack on the motor for the model number you posted.

Look at shop.evinrude.com drill down to your motor.

Also, this is a prime example of why Seloc and Clymer manuals are deficient.

Get the Evinrude shop manual...you will be better off, and you will absolutely see the difference.

One powerpack is shown in the parts catalog for your motor - OE # 0583865 - the CDI equivalent is 113-3865.

I believe that 173-4292 is a CDI stator, not a powerpack.

in the meantime, if *anyone has a wiring diagram i could use while i wait for the book to arrive, i'd appreciate if someone would post it or email it to me! its gonna be torture staring at my motor for the next week/week-and-a-half and not be able to do anything.
