I noticed that my new replacement seats with plastic bases do not have vents. I found 3 1/2" round louvered vents for sale, and they are described as "giving air circulation for wooden seat bases to keep them strong". I understand that the moister can damage the wooden seats, but wouldn't you want to vent the area for the contents as well, if you have plastic seat bases?
I find that the things I leave in the plastic seat bases are a little damp and it is humid inside, so I was thinking vents would be a good idea. Waste of money or not?
