The trolling speed on my ranger boat is too high accept. with a rev 4 19 pitch prop; the slowest I can get it is 3.2 mph @ 680 rpm. this prop maxes out at 5850 rpm. I was looking into a bay pro prop. what pitch should I start at? bay pro 11 or 111? Or would a three blade pro work better. I need to get the motor troll as slow a possible with those rpms.

Re: Verado 150 prop help

The problem I see is that changing the prop to get a significant difference in trolling speed is going to negatively effect performance. I would try throwing out a drift sock or two. Just a thought.

I didn't even know they made those. You learn something every day.

Re: Verado 150 prop help

I've set up quite a few boats of Deep-V nature for walleye fishing and the best Item I've found to fix this is the Nauticus smart-tabs with the trolling kit. These plates have an over-center lever that does a great job of slowing the boat and as an added bonus it stops bow wander.
You do have to remember to flip them up to run-mode though
