I am reserching which manufactures offer an all aluminum pontoon boat. Veranda, which was Xpress, seem well made but hard to come by used. Sun tracker I think offers an aluminum floor as a option. Is there any others? does any of you have one mentioned above? thanks

I don't know how many companies offer that but I would say not very many, it is a pretty expensive option that not many people want.

We looked into that at Bennington but it just wasn't cost effective and I think there were issues with noise and the deck got smoking hot.

I would say iof you find one and you want an aluminum deck buy it cause there can't be many out there.

I have a Suntracker with the aluminum deck. First one I've had. I'm very happy with it so far. It might get a little warmer than the traditional wood deck, but it's fine. Just out of curiosity, what's your motivation for seeking out the aluminum deck?

I have heard the stories, gets hot, noisy, expensive. Well I got an aluminum deck and it's just as quiet as wood deck tunes I have been on, with carpeting I have never felt undue heat off the deck, and I boat on the Colorado where 100 deg. is a cool day. It ain't free, but not out of line price wise. Some Tracker dealers don't even stock wood decks, because not enough customers want them. I talked to 4 dealers when I got mine and all said they would have to order wood if I wanted it. I did'nt want it. Get the aluminum, you'll never have your deck rot out from under you.:D

Ineed a more family friendly boat that is at home in fresh or salt water.I have a Xpress bass boat. very well made for an aluminum boat. .100 g aluminum, no wood and good craftsmanship. varanda (Xpress) pontoons claim to also use .100g aluminum pontoons, all welded, solid interlocking deck and no cross braces. check out thier web site and watch the video section. pretty impressive. I think this boat would provide many years of trouble free service. If you have seen or inspected one, your comments would be helpful.

I also have the alumadeck on my Sun Tracker and love it. My last pontoon had a wood deck and we cannot notice any differance in heat or noise on the Sun Tracker. I would never buy another wood deck.

i also have a suntracker,i wanted a toon set up for fishing but this 1 had a livewell already in place & when i looked under it & seen it had a alum deck i turned around & told the man i would take it.no noise or more heat than you would normaly expect.the seats all have the plastic bases also so i may have to recarpet/recover stuff some day but not rebuild the deck.mike243
