1968 , 33 Johnson , manual start , man are these 33;s hard as heck to pull rope ? Pulls fairly easy with plugs removed , don;t have a compression gauge someone borrowed it now gone ! Honestly , been sitting 9 years & just getting to it cuz of health issues . It;s on a 68 14 ft. Rebel , W/ Chysler trailer . Cleaned fuel pump screen and carb. WD-40 in cycl , etc. . Is there a secret to an easier pull , lol ? Like a chain saw compression release ! I doubt it but worth asking . Maybe just not enough pulling power !!! Had boats all my 63 yrs. All electric start . Would love to get this little baby running & on the Lake where I live soon . Diagnosed Cancer last yr. but doing ok . Thanks for any help , Beamer

Welcome aboard.

Moved this out of an old thread.

Use some oil in the spark plug holes. WD-40 is not lube. 2 stroke oil would be better and pull it over with the the plugs out a few times to lube the walls and rings. This may help ease the pull start.
