I guess it all comes down to whether the cylinder walls will be perfectly smooth after honing. If not, then sure sounds like a trip to the machine shop is in order.

No significant scoring...

Any Scoring is significant..........<br /><br />I Really think you should be looking for a Good Machinest........<br /><br />Have the Rods checked also.... This Isn't something that's done with the naked Eye........
