Anyone have a clue on the ballpark year of this 3 horse Johnny? And mostly any value on this. Old guy trying to sell it, and if needed, I think I can get some numbers off it as it looks like the plate is still on the mount. Haven't seen it, just this pic he sent me. Said it ran last year, but needs a good carb clean out. Thanks, Robby

Looks like a early fifties to mid fiftiews.

Get us a model number and we can nail it down to the right year.

Looks like a '55 going by the decal style. Broken wing off the tank rim, several dents, but overall fairly complete looking. If it turns over with compression, it might be a $50-$75 motor at a swap meet... Would likely need waterpump kit, ignition components, and carb kit to run, but assuming basically healthy to start with, it'll run well...

If it's stuck or low compression, then it's a parts motor - no more than $40.....

- Scott

Thanks guys........the wealth of knowledge here is simply amazing. Think I will take it off the old guys hands, and see who might need parts for it on ebay if it doesn't run well and pump water.

Since there's no shift shaft, replacing the impeller is a 10 minute job on that guy. If the water pump screws come out fine that is.
Just be careful not to pull on the driveshaft at all with the water pump housing off.

Yes sir...think a long time ago, in a stupider time, on a similar motor, that mistake was made! Another page added to my book "How I got so damn smart"...........Thanks!
