They say ya get what ya pay for an this was a free 1985 15.5' capri with 85hp force. steering cable is frozen so ive removed with replacement intended but O/B motor still takes much effort to move. any suggestions on how to free up or replace main "hinge pin" ... not sure what else to call it. Also best place to purchase steering cable an other parts would be soooo apreciated. first boat and it is such a projject with not so such a budget:redface:

Welcome aboard!
Penatrating oil may get down in around the steering bracket collar and pin and loosen it up, if so use a grease gun to grease it good afterwards.

New cable, and a new motor tube...only way out...IF..all disconnected, and the motor swings free. If the motor, corroded junk..then a yank/pull apart/rebush the swivals. If saltwater...(which you didn't say)...well you will see why what I told ...
"Free"..is the start of an open wallet...but not the 9th inning on the boat.
Google Teleflex..for any cable need info..then check IBoats..good prices ...
