I have a 94 20' Regal boat with a 4.3LX & 1.84 outdrive. I am running the Quicksilver Power2 17-23 pitch shifting prop. It starts off at 17 pitch and shifts to 23 pitch at a RPM level that I determine. I figured some may be curious about this prop and I could not find any videos online of it so I thought I would post this! Watch the tach and you will see it shift.

Good job on the video. That shift action is nice, seems like you have a really good setup to me.

Hey JS, do you pull skiers or boarders? Just wondered how it works, if the shift point affects them if they are not all the way up and "planing" yet.

i still can't get over that thing its one of the coolest things ive seen. Does it up your top end anymore that just using a regular 23p at wot or just give you nice take off and then switch to the bigger for your top end? Also do the blades actually extend to the bigger size? Thanks for the help im really curious about this thing!

That is cool. I feel like I am driving my old Chevy Nova with a shift kit in the tranny. As mentioned above have you tried it pulling wakeboarders or any watersports?

I do not pull skiers with the boat at this point, only tubers. I do not think the shift point would affect a skier though. It is a really smooth shift. The blades just pivot, they so not change other than just turning to a higher pitch. As far as top end is concerned, I have ran a 23 pitch aluminum vortex prop and achieved identical top speeds and the shifting prop beats it out of the hole big time!

They come in different sizes. They offered many variants of this prop. Google "quicksilver power2 prop" and I am sure you will find a lot of details.

Use Google to find the few vendors that still have one in stock.

They are blowing them out for like 1/2 price.

Oh yeah; virtually no repair parts are available because Mercury only offered it for a year or two, so didn't produce many parts.

It operates on the same principle as Land and Sea's Torque Shift prop, which is also no longer made.

I will have to do that. It is a shame that they don't make them anymore.

I have searched high and low for any left over props without success. However BAM marine in Florida still sells some parts.

That is very good performance for that powerplant/boat combo. I did not think it had a prayer to get to 48MPH.

Isn't the max RPM a bit over for the 4.3L motor? I had thought 4800 was about max.

You are correct, 4800 is max recommended. I do not run it at 4900 too long!
